1% Dojo Character

1% Dojo Logo
"1%" refers to the one person

out of 100 people who pass by a dojo (or any school for that matter) who actually steps foot inside and attempts to learn the material.  Out of 100 people who are courageous enough to make the first attempt, only one will actually achieve the rank of Black Belt.  The other 99% will drop out within weeks, months or years of their first class and never fulfill their full potential. Learning never stops during a person's lifetime nor is training ever fully complete.  If the material isn't difficult, then a true warrior is someone who can control their mind, body and spirit

1% Dojo operates under a

mentorship-model to help discourage drop-out by allowing experienced students to work with new students to help them quickly acquire the material.  The amount of one to one quality time you will receive with the Instructor is comparable to that of any other dojo, academy or university.  Many students report their technical progress will literally improve faster in six weeks than most do in six months if they simply attend class (which is 90% of the battle).

The curriculum content has combined substantial

contributions from 17 individuals who were certified black-belts under legendary lineages.  Twice yearly, students have the opportunity to attend a seminar or other outside event.  Many students absorb the material quickly and choose to test for rank.  In addition, all of the students are close friends and extremely supportive of each other.  There are numerous cage fights, away seminars, training camps, submission tournaments, etc. many of our students attend together.

Commitment of all the members

of 1% Dojo will take the time to meet with new recruits one-to-one to ensure your individual needs for self-defense are being met even if your schedule is difficult.

I can personally tell you some of the worst days in life I forced myself to attend class when I didn't want to train ended feeling the best.  Many of the dedicated students share the same sentiment of turning "lemons into lemonade."  In general, those who truly take this sentiment to heart every day are most successful in all aspects life.

Thank you for considering the dojo.
