1% Dojo Philosophy

1% Dojo was established to focus on stand-up and ground-fighting systemsThe jaw and neck, for example, are one of the few parts on the human body where everyone is universally weak in terms of their susceptibility to become unconscious due to a well-executed attack (e.g., chokes, strangles, cranks, etc.).  Regardless of whether an opponent is 40- or 440-lbs., neck attacks have the greatest chance of neutralizing dangerous physical threats in the least amount of time with minimal injury.

Once students have mastered the fundamentals, the curriculum and instruction provides a specialty focus on neck attacks to ensure they have the skill-set to defeat larger opponents quickly.  In a life or death situation, neck attacks may render a dangerous opponent unconscious and provide the victim a small window of opportunity to escape.
